Members progress from
ordinary to ex·traor·di·nar·y
One of the greatest benefits of joining MCPCA is the opportunity it likely provides to either be a mentor or find one. Mentorship offers the ability to learn from someone who has been working in counseling for years, or you can give back by sharing your expertise with someone new to counseling. These authentic mentoring relationships are priceless.
Counselors are often extremely busy and can get stuck in their own little bubbles. Being around others with different viewpoints will expose you to new ideas and outlooks. This can have a very positive effect not only on your personal growth and development, but impact your overall success as well. The MCPCA can be a great way to increase your own visibility, as well as that of your school.
The MCPCA offers events throughout the year that allow counselors to network with their peers, including local events and annual conferences. Many of these events have the benefit of a path for members to connect with local leaders within the counseling profession to expand their professional networks.
